2019 DIGIFAB SUMMIT NIGERIA
The new Executive Order 5 is aimed at achieving the development of local skills, technology transfer, use of local manpower and local manufacturing to boost sustainable development in all sectors of the economy. There is a need to remedy the skills – gap in the area of digital manufacturing.
This is because traditional manufacturing jobs are threatened by noticeable evolution of computer-aided manufacturing, with verified benefits. Such as; cost effectiveness, material conservation, minimized labour, enhanced precision and many more.
There’s been a high penetration rate of the internet and Tech tools in the country, which means Nigeria stands the chance to become a force to reckon with in Advanced Manufacturing.
To make this a reality, ‘ITESL FabLab Abuja’ and ‘Towards A Greater Nigeria Foundation’ presents DIGIFAB SUMMIT NIGERIA 2019 – an all-day technology event, hosting around 500 participants.
The summit is centered around impacting attendees with adequate technical knowledge, practical skills, ideas on digital manufacturing/fabrication and design, which will empower them for creation of sustainable products that would solve local problems, rather than just consume.
This Summit focuses mainly on addressing the skill – shortage among Nigerians. Enabling the next generation of Technology Innovators/inventors from diverse backgrounds, to be relevant in this era of Digital Revolution. Also to compete on the Global Stage.
Our theme this year, “DIGITAL MANUFACTURING: DIVERSITY & INCLUSION FOR SUSTAINABLE LOCAL CONTENT DEVELOPMENT” will feature areas like 3D Modelling and Printing. Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Blockchain Technologies, Internet of Things, Smart Cities, Digital divide in Education, Entrepreneurship and Digital Transformation, Data-driven Precision Agriculture, etc.
The goal is to inspire, empower and nurture individuals who would in turn solve local needs with locally sourced materials, while building strength and resolve towards a more inclusive future.
